Sylux

Its gender and species are unknown, though it's generally presumed to be human because of its use of stolen Galactic Federation weaponry and equipment, which is a predominantly human organization. Sylux is a master tracker and deadly sharpshooter, who's only known motives are the complete destruction of the Galactic Federation, as well as any of its allies, chief among them, Sylux's rival hunter, Samus Aran. It is unknown why Sylux hates the GF (Galactic Federation) and its supporters so much, especially Samus in particular. All of Sylux's gear comes from advanced and highly secretive GF research labs, possibly located on the planet Cylosis.

It wears an armorsuit that is resistant to both energy and physical attacks, as well as having an internal oxygen supply allowing breathing both under water and even in the depths of space, the suit also comes with an alternative form called the "Lockjaw" which is very similar to Samus's own Morph Ball. The Lockjaw is a ball of glowing energy, held in place by two overlapping pieces which resemble Sylux's suit. It drops bombs much like the Morph Ball, but instead of having a timed detonation, the charges create arcing tripwires out of energy, which trigger as soon as they are crossed, though if a third bomb is placed it will form a triangular circuit, detonating all of them at once. The Lockjaw also has some form of antigravity system, as even when stationary it floats above the ground, and is able to jump small gaps without loosing altitude, as well as using its bombs to propel it upwards, even indefinitely in low or zero gravity environments. In combat Sylux uses an experimental arm weapon called the "Shock Coil" which emits energy in the form of continuous lightning-like arcs. The Shock Coil is generally considered a short range weapon, requiring physical contact with the target to cause damage, but when it does make contact, the beams tend to lock on, attaching to the opponents body or armorsuit and damaging them continually. These beams also drain the target of any usable energy, transferring it to restore Sylux's own energy stores, making it a both deadly, and self-sustaining weapon. Not much is know about Sylux's ship, other then it is called the Delano-7 (its official galactic ship registration tag says so anyway), an apparently unfinished GF experiment, which resembles the armorsuit and Lockjaw in several ways.



I feel the need to do more fan art, so a couple of things are going to be going up in the coming weeks, among my normal stuff.
I'm a pretty big Metroid fan, probably one of my favorite series ever, to the point that I have a home-made Samus helmet, as well as a clay sculpture of Samus herself, so I figured I'd start with some art of that.
Metroid doesn't have a very large cast of characters beyond unnamed scientists and monsters, So I drew my favorite named character, Sylux (besides Samus, of course).

I couldn't remember what it's emblem looked like exactly, nor could I find it, so I made one based off memory, it's alternate form, the Lockjaw, and Samus's own emblem.
